The geographic location, the silence, and the non-existence of either industry and pollution are reasons to looking forward to benefit this place by spending healthy holidays and enjoying nature and the gorgeous rocky landscape, to re-establish a peace of spirit and the emotional balance that the great urban centres cannot offer. Entertainment activities will be provided by professionals. Here are some proposals:

  • Hunting and fishing;
  • Route of the Romanic;
  • Walking routes;
  • Routes to observe the fauna and flora of the region;
  • Cultural visits: to the medieval centre of Trancoso, Penedono, Marialva, Sernancelhe, and visits to the great rupestrian engravings in river Côa;
  • Tourist trips available in historical trains, helicopters or boats;
  • Pedestrian routes and personalised visits to the region of the Alto Douro;
  • The Route of the watermills and the Route of the Port Wine which provide a visit to some places, all situated in the Demarcated Region of the Douro and outskirts, meeting the smaller and larger producers; in September, visitors can take part in the "Festa das Vindimas": typical wine tasting, lunches and dinners, press grapes, wine auctions, exhibitions, regattas, concerts and more!
  • Promotion of aquatic sports in Vilar and Bagaúste lagoons, such as rowing, sailing, canoeing, speedboat racing and jet skis.
